The Weekend's Over

Yep, it's another work week, but after having another awesome weekend I can handle it!  Top it off to say I only have a 4 day work week too because of the holiday on Friday.  And the following week well we have it off work!

Anyway, this weekend the hubby and I did something different.  We were given VIP admission to an airshow.  I've never been to one, but I've been into trying new things lately, and it was free - why not?  Well here's why not - because now I'm addicted!  I loved it!  The roar of the jets as they flew past!  How the jet would pass with the thunderous sound trailing behind it!

Here's some cool pics we got (we took about 190).  I just had to share a few.  And who knows maybe they'll inspire a story?

  1. I Love the Smoke Heart... If I had been there I would have probably told my date "Yeah Baby, I had them do that just for you" LOL.
Looks like you guys had a nice time.. Thanx for sharing :-D

    Peace... Mike

  3. I also love that smoke heart! I can't believe I've never been to an airshow. I work for the FAA and have for the past 6 years, and so did my ex-husband who was also a private pilot. My life since I was 19 has been all about airplanes, lol. I would really love to go, though! Thanks for sharing your experience with us!

  4. I've never been to an airshow, but they always look fun. Speaking of air, however, this past weekend my girlfriend and I bought tickets to try indoor skydiving. Can't wait to see how that goes!

  5. Mike, the honesty lol :)

    Dana, it was awesome!

April, you really need to go!

Scott, indoor skydiving? You're one brave man! I actually said to my hubby, I might do a helicopter ride (I don't like going in planes)...I think I just got caught up there lol

You'll have to let us know how the skydiving goes!

  6. Airshows are always fun if the weather is good, not too hot and not overcast. I've gone to various airshows off and on since the late 1980s. There's something about feeling that raw jet power thundering in your chest when one pulls a tight turn in front of you.

My favorite displays have been the F-14 (sadly retired now), The Blue Angels (and their C-130"Fat Albert" Demo), and the Warbirds from WWII & Korea. The Warbirds especially give you a sense of living history.

  7. Oh it was sunny, but a nice temperature - not humid! Got burnt really bad on my upper chest though, and that's with sun screen. (It's all blistered up today - and sore!)

Oh it definitely is awesome feeling the jets! All of them are in their own right. (I can't remember all their names though.)

  8. Welcome to the world of being awed by those marvelous machines flying around in our skies.
I live near Nellis Air Force Base, the home of the Thunderbirds. I frequently go out to the base for business and get to see an awesome assortment of aircraft.
I find it hard to believe that so many thousands of tons of metal can somehow get off the ground and into the air.
And, we frequently get to see the Thunderbirds practicing. Best of all is Aviation Nation where you get to see everything from WWI biplanes to the latest in jet aircraft.
